Jacob and I just returned from 4 glorious, kid free nights! We dropped the girls off at Mimi's house Monday morning, and then headed out in the late morning. It's pretty easy getting to Port Canaveral and is only about an hour from our house. We were on the ship and hanging at the pool by 2:30.
Sailing Away!

Tuesday we were supposed to be in Coco Cay, Royal Caribbean's private island in the Bahamas, but due to the weather we had a day at sea. It was pretty overcast this day so we basically hung out in our room, watched movies, went to the pool, and ate and drank.
Funny towel animal we found in our room, it's a monkey!
On Wednesday there wasn't a cloud in the sky and we were in Nassau. We headed to the Hilton and hung out at their pool for about 4 hours. It was so peaceful and quiet, just what we were looking for. They had a bar right by the pool, so we ordered lunch and drinks and floated in the pool all day. We both got a lot more sun than we thought and ended up with bad sunburns (oops).

On Thursday we were supposed to be at sea, but since we had a sea day on Tuesday, the ship finally went to Coco Cay instead. It was so incredibly hot, and combined with our horrible sunburns, we only lasted about an hour and a half at the beach. We headed back to the ship and hung around the pool.

The next day was Friday and it was time to go home. We were both more than ready to see our girls. We missed them tremendously! Four nights was just the right amount of time. Any longer and I don't think I could stand it! It was hard not being able to call them like we normally do when we go out of town. We had a fabulous time filled with eating, drinking, adult comedy, and enjoying the weather. It was so nice to be able to take a nap or eat a meal without having to get up every 2 minutes to get one of the girls something or clean something up!
The girls did fabulous with my mom. Of course, this had to be the week that Mady got a stomach bug and puked all over her bed, her bathroom, my bathroom, and at Mimi's. Thank goodness my mom was able to stay home with them on Thursday so Mady could recover. By Friday Mady was on the mend and we were able to take the girls to the pool and spend the day together.
KK loved the Splash Zone.
Such a sweet baby girl!
1, 2, 3, ... GO!
We are really excited to announce that we will be taking Mady on this cruise in two weeks! We decided while we were onboard to book the three-night cruise to the Bahamas for July 17-20. What makes it even more special is Mady's good friend (and friends of ours, too) Emily and her parents will be on the same cruise. Also, Mady and KK's babysitter, Mimi, and her family will be onboard as well! We can't wait to take Mady on her first cruise, she's already so excited about sleeping on a boat! Thank goodness Jacob worked a side job and is coaching basketball camp this summer to pay for all of our endeavours, Thank You Daddy!
