Happy Mother's Day!

How can I not have a happy day when I am the proud mother of these two beautiful babes? They are so different and unique in their own way, and I wouldn't change a thing! They are the most loveable girls and I just know they will grow up to be best friends!

Spring has Sprung!

We've been busy this spring with the Disney Rockin' Road Show, Busch Gardens, and the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot.

We went to the Disney Rockin' Road Show with Mady, Emily, and Jay. All the kids wore their Mickey/Minnie t-shirts and loved every second of the show. It featured Toy Story, the main Disney characters, Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother, the wicked stepsisters, and Tigger. We had floor seats not far from the stage and the kids could see perfectly. Everyone had a great time and it was well worth the money to see this show!

For spring break we took Mady to Busch Gardens for a few days. Preschoolers get a free pass good through the end of the year for the new Safari of Fun by Sesame Street. Florida residents pay for a day and come back all year, so it was a great deal for us to go! We stayed at a hotel with just our big girl, she got to go on tons of rides in the Safari of Fun area, see lots of animals, and swim at the hotel pool. We had a great time and plan on going back and using our pass.

This past weekend we visited the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot. I love this festival because the flowers are amazing. We saw so many different topiaries and characters made out of flowers. The girls all wore their matching dresses and we got so many compliments throughout the park! We can't wait to go back for Memorial Day weekend for our annual trip! KK will be staying with grandma and pop pop while we stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort. This is our favorite resort in the summer for its pool alone!

Easter 2010

We started our Easter celebrating early with an Easter egg hunt at the church. This is the first time we've taken the girls and they had a great time. They wore their matching bunny shirts and shorts and were so cute. They each had their own area to hunt for eggs and Mady was good at helping KK get her eggs.

Since the girls were celebrating Easter at Mimi's house as well, we decided to make treats to share with all of their daycare friends. This year we made little bird nests. It was chow mein noodles, chocolate, peanut butter, chocolate eggs, and a peep. They came out adorable.

We also had an Easter party at our house on Good Friday. We invited all our friends: the Pearsons, Fredels, Pedersens, and Maddox families. The kids had a blast playing with each other and we kept them busy! Each kid had their own set of eggs to dye, we ate pizza and cupcakes, the daddies had a beer bottle hunt, and the kids had an egg hunt. Instead of putting candy in the eggs, we decided to make treats to take home. I made carrots out of icing bags and puff corn, and egg shaped rice krispie treats that weren't so pretty! The kids had a blast and luckily the egg dye came off their hands pretty easy!

On Easter Sunday Mady and KK woke up to a visit from the Easter bunny. He always brings the girls new bathing suits and brought Mady a princess beach towel. They also got new DVDs and some candy. The Easter bunny always manages to make it to both grandma's houses, so they got even more treats and gifts over there!

Strawberry Picking

We finally made it to the strawberry patch this spring. Because of the cold weather we had, we weren't sure if we were ever going to make it! We finally found a perfect Saturday where the patch wasn't picked over and the strawberries were ripe for the picking! We invited our friends Emily, Nolan, and Gwen to join us at the patch. Then we had dinner at our house that night! The kids had a great time picking their strawberries and KK found a favorite and held on to it the entire time!

Valentine's Day

I know I'm a little bit out of order since Mady's birthday technically comes before Valentine's Day, but I still wanted to include what we did! The night before Valentine's Day Mady and I made treats for her friends as Mimi's. We decided to make pink rice krispie shaped hearts. They were simple to make and the only extra ingredient needed was red food coloring. We cut them out using a heart shaped cookie cutter and put them in plastic bags. Mady was excited to bring them to Mimi's the next day and share them with her friends.

We also decided to make Mimi a special valentine, so we made her a bouquet of chocolate covered strawberries. They turned out perfect and I had a few extra for Jacob and the girls to eat!

On Valentine's Day I always make the girls a cookie cake with their name on it. This year it didn't turn out so pretty, but they still liked it. I also had balloons on their individual chairs and a small gift waiting for them when they woke up.

Jacob and I celebrated Valentine's Day by going to the Hilton at Disney and walking around Epcot. This is one of my favorite things to do and we've now done it twice for Valentine's day. I love walking around the World Showcase and it was nice not having to bring the girls and all their stuff.

Jacob and the girls also surprised me with new charms for my Pandora bracelet. I got one from each girl and one from Jacob. My Pandora bracelet is quickly filling up!

We had a great Valentine's Day weekend!
