This past weekend we had Friday off, so we decided to leave KK with my mom and head up to St. Augustine for the weekend. Our good friends The Townsends met us up there with their two kids, Bryce and Avery, for a weekend getaway. The weather was okay, I didn't take many pictures because it was cloudy off and on. I still laid out in the sun almost all day Saturday and got a good start on a tan! Mady thought the pool was too cold, so she stayed in the hot tub most of the time. It was definitely easier having only one child, especially since Mady is getting to be so much more independent, but we surely missed our baby. We are headed back up this coming weekend for spring break. Jacob's sister Tricia and her husband Jimmie will be joining us, as well as their two kids Jillian and Jeffrie. Mady can't wait to meet up with her cousins and spend time on the beach!
P.S. For anyone who doesn't know the backstory on Mady and Bryce, they were born about an hour and a half apart. Of course, Mady is the older woman!

Twinkle Toes
Today was Mady's first official ballet class. Last week was just a trial class to see if she would enjoy it and actually participate. Mady wore her pink leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers. However, the ballet slippers came off within 5 minutes. I guess we'll be going to Payless and getting the "real" ballet shoes. Maybe the Easter bunny will bring them? Mady and Sarah practiced the routine they'll perform at the recital in June. When they brought the parents in at the end to see the dance, Mady didn't really participate. Hopefully as the weeks go by she'll actually dance. Otherwise she'll be standing pretty in her recital costume! Tomorrow morning we're headed off to St. Augustine beach for the weekend. We love long weekends! Kaitlyn is staying with my mom and we're meeting up with some friends and their kids. Stay tuned for pictures!

Picnic in the Park
Mady has been begging us to go on a picnic in the park for about the past week or so. Since the weather has been really nice, I've been wanting to take her. However, with an infant combined with the fact that I really just don't like getting sandy and dirty, I've been avoiding it. Well, today was Mady's lucky day! We met some friends at Gemini Springs for a birthday party. Voila! Mady got her picnic in the park! We had a great time, the weather was perfect, and KK got in the swing for the first time! My feet are sandy and dirty, but nonetheless, a great time was had!

Disney Playhouse Live!
Tonight I took Mady to Disney Playhouse Live at the Amway Arena. We met up with our friends Sarah, Emily, and Emily's friend. The show featured Mickey Mouse and his friends, Handy Manny, Little Einsteins, and Pooh, Tigger, and Darby. The girls had a great time and even got up to dance a few times.
The girls all sat in front and we sat behind them.

Dancing with the Stars
Today Mady and her friend Sarah had their first ballet class! Mady and Sarah used to go to The Little Gym for gymnastics, but since it closed last summer we've been trying to think of what the girls should do next. Finally, we found Studio 5D and enrolled Mady in the Tiny Dance class on Thursdays. The girls will work on ballet and tap with a recital on June 13-14. At first Mady was a little scared, but after a pep talk from Ms. Jen she joined the class and practiced her ballet. Here's a picture of the ballerina with her lollipop after class! We will have the official uniform next Thursday!

Splashground at the Zoo
On Saturday we took a trip to the Central Florida Zoo to check out the animals, but more importantly we wanted to go to the splashground since the weather's been in the 80s lately. Mady loved the splashground and KK enjoyed a nap in daddy's arms in the shade. It was a great afternoon, and more importantly it didn't cost anything since we're zoo members!
Check out my awesome Dora towel I got for my birthday!
